A quick test of the mix with iron oxide.

I did another mix but this time I added iron oxide. The result was very good. I had 74g of KNO3, 26g of epoxy mix, and 5g of iron oxide. The strand which was just a tad bigger than 1" took 16.3 seconds to burn which is around 1.5mm/s. Using the video I get about 1.8mm/s of time. It definately worked better but probably much better than I will need for an igniter. I will most likely use a little less iron oxide for the igniters. The 5 min epoxy set too fast but this is a cheap test of the technology and I will get some slower curing mix.
