I found a few videos from some old igniter tests. I have no idea where the rest of these went.
The first is using compressed air and propane. Some of our first attempts. We set it off with a spark plug PWM ignition. It was controlled by a PIC microcontroller. It didn't run very hot but was very loud. Made a very good gas generator and could easily light things on fire.
This test used propane and compressed O2. Much hotter run. Someone got a little excited and placed some metal under it to see what it would do. The sparks are from that metal. It took us a few tries to get a good O/F ratio that didn't melt the igniter. Propane also varies so much based on temperature. We ended up drawing the liquid propane.
